Born in Porto in 1963. Attended Graphic Arts at Escola de Artes Decorativas Soares dos Reis (Porto), Music and Animation at the Centro de Arte Moderna of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. He is also a professional actor having worked in theatre with several Portuguese companies. In 1990 creates the animation studio ANILUPA within the Associação de Ludotecas do Porto and more recently the Centro da Imagem Animada/ANILUPA (CLIA). With ANILUPA he orientated several animation shorts directed by students of the first and second grade and in different institutions besides CLIA, such as CAT do Conde, I.P.O., Rivoli Teatro Municipal and Casa da Música. He was a jury member of CINANIMA in 1996 and 2007. A MEIO DA NOITE is his first animated author film.
