Born in Porto, Portugal on the 24th of April 1956.
Attended the graduation in Painting and Sculpture at ESBAL – Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa.
Has a course of Animated Experimental Cinematography at the High School of Architecture and Visual Arts, La Cambre, Belgium where he directed several short author ilms (1976/1981).
Directed and participated in several promotional spots for diferent portuguese production companies. Worked for one year in Hungary in an American production, irst as an apprentice and after as assistant director. He was responsible and he has been the main guider for the Animated Cinema Course at the Animated Cinema Atelier ACARTE / Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian since 1986. Made several computer openning titles for RTP (Portuguese Television) in late 80’s.
Along with Nuno Amorim he founded in 1991 the animation production company ANIMAIS.
